Located in the hinterland of the Gippsland Lakes just a pleasant forest drive from Lakes Entrance, Metung and Paynesville, Waterholes Guest House/B&B/ bush land retreat offers visitors entry into the magic of the Australian natural environment without compromising their comfort.
Waterholes is easily accessed from the Great Alpine Road and the Sydney to Melbourne Coastal Drive making it a perfect stop-over for travellers exploring these touring routes.

Watch native animals in the wild from your balcony or on a guided spotlight walk. Amble down through the romantic gardens to delicious meals taken according to your personal timetable and designed to suit your particular tastes.
Your room with a view! Modern. Extreme attention to detail and comfort. Three large suites, each with king size double beds, can also accommodate four singles comfortably.
Our guest house is separated from the main dwelling by a short walk through the garden, and is designed to delight in every way! Each of our rooms has en-suite facilities, which includes both an extra large bath and a shower. Private balconies provide a delightful spot to breakfast.
King size luxury beds are only one feature of rooms generous enough to live in. A lounge room / library offers a congenial place for guests to socialize, or just to relax with a book (snuggled up in front of the fire in winter).

Natural surroundings: A convergence of forest, grassland, wetland and river environments all within the immediate surrounds of the Guest house makes this place a real wonderland for people and wild life.
Peace, perfect peace: No mobile reception, no DVD, no television, no traffic. The air is saturated with birdsong by day and frog song by night. Wonderful!
Walking: Walks take guests from one lovely area to another with a completely different atmosphere.
History: A whimsical 'Fun Parlour' recalls the rough buildings of the gold rush days as does the huge old pear tree, classified by the National Trust, which stands in the large romantic garden.
River: The gurgle of the river's crystal clear waters beckons on a hot day and the frog lullaby sings you to sleep after a spotlight walk or a stargazing session on the deck.
The flowers and the trees: Wander around our large and magical garden. Paths lead the explorer to the rich world within and without the fence. Spring and Autumn are particularly good for garden lovers.
The birds and the bees: Waterholes is home to well over a hundred species of birds, four species of gliding possums, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, koalas and bandicoots.
The power of the sun: Waterholes is powered by a solar power system, and watered by rain and river.
Home, sweet home: Architect designed guest suites. Owner built earth and timber homestead with guest dining and sitting rooms. Whimsical bush fun parlour. Features a large library complete with a selection of games, jigsaw puzzles, etc.
Food, Glorious Food...!
All meals are served at Waterholes Guest House and are one of our main attractions. Each meal is prepared with the food preferences of our guests in mind. Fresh local produce is a feature of the menu and as East Gippsland's wonderful fish, beef and vegetables are right on our doorstep quality and flavour is assured. Seasonal herbs and greens are provided from our own garden and delicious fresh fruits come from nearby orchards.
Waterholes is a BYO establishment, so please bring your own favourite beverages.
