Situated on the Gunbower Island State Forest at locke 26 on the mighty Murray River 30km from Echuca in one of the last remaining Box Forests left in Victoria. With the mighty Murray river on one side and the Gunbower creek waterways on the other this is the largest inland island in Australia. Overlooking the newly constructed Torrumbarry Weir ,built in1996 and commissioned by Prime Minister John Howard in the same year at a cost of more than $36 million. This Weir controls the flow of the Mighty Murray all the way to Mildura and beyond. The weir pool area makes a great location for water skiing above the weir and fishing below and the waterways a great location for bird watching. Our Riverveiw cabins overlooking the downstream side of the weir gives you a perfect view of the spillway and the magnificent splendor of the Mighty Murray River. Or why not have an ensuite cabin near the pool to relax and enjoy the sun. If your just camping large grass powered or unpowered sites available , fire drums available for the campfire experience and modern amenities to clean up after an action packed day of adventure.
