Awaiti Lodge is owned by Christine and Bruce, with horse's, cows and two dogs. Awaiti lodge is a 20 year old refurbished house situated approximately four kilometres from Ohakune, in a rural setting, on a 15 acre lifestyle block. This is a landscaped block with a private environment with country animals, beautiful mountain views, and backs onto the Waimarino Golf Course. During winter we have a sauna, spa, and drying room for ski equipment, at no extra charge.

Look no further if you like a bit of fun and adventure in your accommodation. These 2 converted rail carriages are definitely different! Originally built by N.Z Rail in the 1940's when money didn't seem to come into the equation and they certainly built rail carriages solid. Lots of native timber including a Kauri tongue and groove ceiling. There's the original flip over seats at the dining table. One could even imagine your riding in the presidents private car, only the scenery is stationary. While endeavouring to maintain all the original charm and character there are still all the modern conveniences you require in a self contained chalet. A separate toilet, shower and basin vanity. A kitchenette comprising of a sink bench, a fridge, a toaster and jug, a large electric frypan, a microwave, and of course all the cutlery, glasses, and plates you'll ever need - with a range of suitable dishes to experiment your microwave skills on.

Sunbeam Motels & Lodge offers diverse accommodation options including self-catering studio & family motel units, 4 bedroom chalet that sleeps up to 12, 2 bedroom apartment with optional 3rd room, ensuite Lodge rooms and value bunk rooms. Sunbeam Motels & Lodge is complete with cosy lounge bar, and with the friendly staff you'll feel right at home. An open log fire place to keep you toasty while you play on the pool table. Located right near the Junction - the main hub with bars, restaurants, ski & board shops. Everything you need within walking distance, but far enough away not to hear it!

There are two bedrooms and a sleeping alcove. All with Queen size beds. A fold down fouton bed ia available in the lounge. All beds have electric blankets. We also have a relaxing and comfortable lounge with a large picture window giving views over the garden to Mt Ruapehu. You will have full cooking facilities available. A continental breakfast is included in the tariff with freah bread baked daily.
